Description: Exhibiting photographers are often faced with astronomical costs for matting work for an exhibition. By teaching them how to cut and by offering them access to En Foco’s equipment (by appointment), photographers can take matters into their own hands. Brooklyn Arts Council: Space Matters: Real Estate Opportunities for Arts Organizations

Description: At a time when real estate is extremely limited for arts organizations due to high costs and high demand, this seminar provides information to Brooklyn community-based arts organizations on how to obtain real estate for administrative and artistic needs. The speaker will discuss the key project planning components needed for organizations to start a capital acquisition venture and/or suggest solutions to an organization that has already started. The workshop covers project planning, budgeting and pro-formas, site control, securing developers, licenses and permits, and funding sources.
