delegation from West African Trade hud And Designers from brooklyn discuss productionDesigners have stated openly that they are in desperate need for a solution to te production issue.  They are clear they are looking first for production in  Brooklyn, then they are looking towards the caribbean and Africa.

Well The Africans made it to us first. Our meeting with the West African Trade hub proved very informativ. they brought samples and pitched their production fascilities. With production Capacity from a gross to 50,000 and dutyfree shipping and an empowerment zone, they followed up with a second meeting.

Those in attendence left with a valuable directory of factories, manufacturers and suppliers. It will be interesting to see this time next year how things gave progressed!

We are hoping to be able to meet manufacturers from Brooklyn ad the Caribbean in the upcoming year!

We will present  info @ this weekend's Fashion Seminars-rsvp here

Esaie Couture @ VBAS 2006On October 12th and 13th the Black Church Means Business will convene and the VBAS (Vision Beyond A Season) Fashion Pavilion will again be sponsored by Macy’s!  Last years program allowed a select group of designer access to showcase to Macy’s and local Boutiques.

Four businesses were asked to present to Macy’s Buyers! While small, the show proved to be one of the most direct access vehicles for available to local fashion businesses. This year organizers are striving to increase the number of buyers at both the local boutique and department store level!

While there are segments slated for direct to consumer sales and the two nightly concerts promise an expected 1500 attendees each, VBAS is designed as a trade event. Participants are encouraged to be prepared to network with many community businesses, cooperate, city and banking officials.

Designers interested in information can contact us for the information regarding this! Unfortunately though, there is limited space at this year’s event! Brooklyn Fashion Gallery Has negotiated a $300.00 booth special for designers, which is available till only October 8th.  Designers will need to submit this special form. To prevent abuse you will need to register  and login to download special application form!
